Congratulations to Chuck Connelly on another outstanding job managing the NC Homegrown Tour. ZoneDriven is pleased to support North Carolina disc golf, the Chuckster, and the 2008 HGT. The following is a message from Chuck wrapping up 07 and kicking off the new year. Thanks for supporting the HGT and North Carolina’s private courses!
***************
It was a very exciting and humbling year. The support that I received from ALL OF YOU was very much appreciated. Thanks to you, the HGT disc golfer, we set a attendance record at all but one of the courses, averaged 80 per tournament and broke 100 people 3 times. WE also paid $5232 to the course owners, $6058 to the pro divisions and $7924 in prizes not counting CTPs.
With that being said it brings much anticipation for 2008. I have put a lot of thought into last year and am looking forward to this year. ZoneDriven is once again sponsoring the end of the year trophies for the ZoneDriven Points Race. I am working on having the best payout selection yet and there have been 2 more courses added to the tour, one of which is mine:) Will we break more records? That remains to be seen and only time will tell.
But…the most important thing is that we HAVE FUN! Remember that disc golf is a sport that encourages sportsmanship and camaraderie. Play the game for what it was meant to be, FUN.
On a final note, one of my goals for this year is to be more active with the HGT website. Jim Markov is going to be helping with recaps of the tournament and Paul Vignola is going to be helping with pictures as well. For those of you with cameras and literary skills I encourage you to share them with me to help make the web site the best that it can be. I strongly encourage you to view the web site on a regular basis and register to receive updates. To do this go to the link at the bottom of the page and check out the HGT website. You will see a place to put your email address to receive notice to the updates on the web site.
Don’t forget we kick off the 2008 season at No Mans Land on January 27th. Mike has put a lot of work into his course this year and it is the best layout yet. The flow is smooth, the “road holes” are gone and the vibe is still there.
