We got our first glimpse of the 2008 USDGC Rocs this week and wow, are spectators going to be in for a treat. Here are a few reasons why.

Most importantly, for the first time in several years the USDGC Spectator Release discs will be Champion material. (In recent years we’ve seen Star and Special Blend.) There is such a great variety of beautiful, clear colors that we must begin by sorting every single disc into reasonable combinations for collector reporting. That’s right, collector reporting…

The first 1000 Rocs released at next month’s US Championship will be part of the Collector Series. Each disc will be packaged and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Both the disc and the certificate will have matching stickers with serial numbers. This is almost identical to the process used back in the spring that was so well received. (Minus the bum staples, of course.)

So far the projected grand total of Collector Series Rocs is 3000. The first 1000 will debut at Winthrop on Saturday, October 6th. They will be available in the pro shop and the price will remain at $25.00 each. Official USDGC Partners will have an opportunity to purchase any discs leftover which is highly unlikely. This is truly a benefit, as it should be, for those attending the event.

There will be a full release early in 2008. A date for that has not been determined. We will keep you posted as quickly as details are finalized.
