I’m a 21 year old full time Disc Golf Touring Professional. I am the daughter of a 3x Womens Masters Champion, and Ohio’s best Grandmaster. I am the sister of the USDGCs many years won King Masher, and 7th year Touring Pro.
My parents have been playing Disc Golf rounding on 21 years now, and Avery since he was 16, i think? I was never really big into getting out there and spending family time, It just wasn’t cool at the time. When I got over myself I played my first tournament in 2000, as an ametuer. After that year of playing i decided to play in Am Worlds in the Juniors. I competed against 3 other competitors, and actually won!
I played Am for the next couple of years before turning Pro in 2004. I hung out with Avery for a month or so before the Kansas City Worlds, and drove back with them to Oregon with a decision that I would travel to Japan with them too. I made my first trip to Japan that year out of pure spontaneity, and to think I’ve been back 3 more times since then. Everyone was paired up for roommates for the cottages in Japan. Because we were the only 2 women this year, I was roomed with Carrie Berlogar (Burl). We had played tournaments together before but this was actually the first time we hung out.
This trip jumpstarted my obsession with traveling and disc golf. I kept traveling and competing and in 2005 Burl’s dad bought her an RV for us to travel around in! We started off the original Team Spirit with members, Burl, Brian Schweberger, Courtney Peavy, and I. Since 2005 we’ve gained about 50 new members (anyone thats traveled with us and spent the night in the Spirit), but Burl and I are the last survivors. This year we just finished up our 3rd year of the tour, and another great one at that!
